We perform a complete range of environmental remediation services.
We routinely provide turnkey environmental solutions on a firm fixed price basis, safely executed under stringent quality standards, giving our clients the added benefit of knowing the complete cost up front. Our experience includes a range of performance based task orders and contracts, including a Guaranteed Fixed Price Remediation (GFPR) at Joliet Army Ammunition Plant (AAP).
Our program management experience covers a vast range of environmental investigation and remediation projects under CERCLA, RCRA, and TSCA. Much of our work has focused on projects with complex environmental issues, including projects remediating and managing radioactive waste, mixed radioactive and hazardous wastes, and military munitions and their constituents. This experience was extremely beneficial when we were called upon by U.S. Army Field Services Command (AFSC) in Rock Island to handle an emergency with 16 boxes of unknown energetics at Fort Wingate Army Depot in New Mexico.
Remedial Studies and Reports
We have completed a variety of environmental studies and reports, including:

At Ravenna AAP, where we performed RIs at 14 AOCs, we utilized multi-incremental (MI) sampling methods under the Louisville Chemical Guidance and received extremely positive feedback from the client and regulators for this effort. It is as important to us at PIKA, as it is to our clients, to work closely with and maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies throughout these processes.
Long Term Monitoring/Operations (LTM/LTO)
Once the initial remedial activities are completed and the remedy is in place, we often transition to, or assume, the LTM/LTO. For example, following the removal of contaminated soils at Camp Navajo, AZ, we have been performing the LTM. Our LTM activities include groundwater monitoring, landfill maintenance, and assisting the client with developing and implementing a viable and successful ramp down strategy. We had provided similar services at the Joliet AAP, IL.
Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) Management
We excel in the management of HTRW streams, from identification to manifested transportation and disposal. Most of our project work has included some type of HTRW and we have had several projects involving HTRW that were on a time-critical basis. Our Pine Bluff Arsenal project shows how we worked with our client to develop a solution to the time-critical cleanup of a burned building that included management of several hazardous and toxic wastes. These wastes included white phosphorous (WP), asbestos-containing material (ACM), and other contaminated material. We segregated and removed these HTRW and non-HTRW materials and then containerized in drums for off-site disposal.
We have proven ourselves as a firm capable of handling a wide variety of environmental issues. Please contact us for information on how we can support you with your environmental needs.
